Retreats at High Braes Refuge

Deus haec otia fecit
"God hath made this a Place of Rest"

These words inscribed by John Davidson over the fireplace in the living room of the Manor House describe the way we feel about the Braes today, a place of rest and renewal.

In 1973, Ron and Lorraine Hodge envisioned a place where people could come to rest, hear the message of the Gospel of Christ, grow in that faith, find fellowship with other believers and enjoy God's creation. God's providential hand made the way through a piece of property located in upstate New York near the village of Redfield.

Every retreat center has its strong point. The Braes is best suited for the church that wants to get their group away from distractions, to spend time together with each other and with God. Though we have a few activities we can offer, the strength of the Braes is in its quiet, private location.

The Braes is more than just food and accommodations, we see it as our ministry. The Braes is small and personal and our staff is ready to make you feel at home. If you are looking for a retreat center where you can get away from it all, the Braes has something for every age.
